John Abodeely
Arts Education Manager
John Abodeely joined the staff of Americans for the Arts in August 2005. As arts education manager, John leads the Arts Education Network, a national network of 1,500 individuals and organizations that share a common goal—the advancement of arts education in communities across the country. The network’s constituents include arts and arts education professionals, artists, educators, and community leaders who work to improve access to and quality of arts education. John oversees national partnerships, professional development services, field events, and peer-to-peer communications. John’s work is supported by the Arts Education Council, an advisory leadership council of Americans for the Arts that is composed of local and national experts.
His previous work includes statewide arts advocacy and technical assistance for community-based arts education, placing teaching artists in afterschool youth service facilities. John earned his B.A. magna cum laude in biology and fine arts at Amherst College.
