Local Arts Agencies: Creating Opportunities in Challenging Economic Times Audioconferences
with Bill Keens of Wolf, Keens & Company.

Bill KeensAfter the success of last year's research, Americans for the Arts has once again asked Bill Keens of Wolf, Keens & Company to conduct research on the state of the local arts agency field during these challenging times. You may remember that last year Bill spoke with 28 local arts agencies from all regions of the country to determine the economic and philanthropic conditions in their communities and the strategies they have employed or would like to employ to address the challenges they face. By talking with these leaders once again, we are able to track trends and new initiatives being established nationwide to overcome economic challenges. This effort enables Americans for the Arts to better respond to the current needs of the field, track actual economic conditions and strategies for success, and share what was learned in a timely manner. It also provides an opportunity for local arts agency leaders to learn about the successes and challenges facing their peers and the strategies they are using to advance their work.

Now that the second year of the research and analysis is complete, we invite you to discuss his new findings in one of six regional audioconferences this June. These moderated, interactive, and LIVE audioconference opportunities are FREE to all participants. We would like you to invite producing, presenting, and other constituents to share this experience with you for the 90-minute call at your site. Include your board, staff, and community partners to hear Bill's findings and to ask questions. Last year's audioconferences were a great success and we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to join your colleagues and share your stories.
