Donald R. Greene brings philanthropic and corporate community experience to Tandem Consulting’s practice. A 30-year associate of The Coca-Cola Company, Greene was president and director of The Coca-Cola Foundation for 12 years, leading Coke’s philanthropic program and spearheading the strategic repositioning of its foundation, which he helped create. He also nurtured the development of other Coca-Cola foundations around the world while creating significant signature grants programs. While at Coke, he also was assistant to the chief executive officer and served as corporate secretary.
Greene currently serves as program advisor to The Conference Board's Contributions Council, which is composed of the top 60 corporate grantmakers in the United States. He has served on the faculty of The Contributions Academy, providing professional development education and transformational leadership coaching to contributions and foundations executives. Greene’s extensive philanthropic and nonprofit experience includes chairmanship of the Contributions Council of The Conference Board, board membership of Independent Sector, and corporate and international committee memberships in the Council on Foundations.
Greene has served on numerous arts boards, including Americans for the Arts and the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. Within the field of education, he served on the Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans and on the Boards of Visitors for Emory University and Gallaudet University. He served on the American Committee for St. Petersburg 2003, and the advisory boards of EARTH College in Costa Rica and the Society of International Business Fellows.
