Americans for the Arts Applauds William Ivey's Selection as New NEA Chairman
Statement From Robert Lynch, President and CEO, Americans for the Arts
WASHINGTON, D.C. - With word from the White House that William Ivey has been named to head the National Endowment for the Arts, Americans for the Arts President and CEO Robert L. Lynch said:
"Americans for the Arts is very pleased by the nomination of William Ivey as Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. Bill Ivey is someone who will bring to the NEA creativity, vision and the leadership necessary to advance the arts into the 21st century."
"His background is a blend of field experience as the head of a not-for-profit cultural organization and national perspective as a member of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities and a leader in the music industry. Ivey's combined knowledge of the commercial and not-for-profit arts worlds, along with an understanding of how federal policy is developed and implemented, makes him a natural to lead the charge - especially during what will be an increasingly important time for the arts in America."
"Ivey's abilities are admirable; his experience, solid. Americans for the Arts looks forward to working closely with him and continuing our partnership with the NEA to best support the arts in communities across the U.S."
